Our story
In December of 2015, Seton Medical Center, the last Catholic hospital serving San Francisco, was sold, removing all Catholic presence in maternal health. As a result, today, for the first time in 161 years, there is no Catholic hospital in the San Francisco area to welcome new life. Moreover, where at one time almost all healthcare was delivered by Catholic medical professionals, today there is no openly Catholic and pro-life obstetrics and gynecology practice in San Francisco—much less an approachable, friendly clinic you can trust to care for the entire family, at every age. Bella Primary Care was founded to fill this void.
